Self-Synchronization Based Localization of a Time-Misaligned Transmitter in Cellular Networks

Geo-localization services are an important functionality in cellular networks. Besides, the use of Ultra Dense Networks and small cells, current future networks, greatly increases complexity centralized localization approaches. Consequently, we propose a Self-Synchronization Positioning Estimation (SSPE) algorithm that estimates transmitter position distributed fashion. The proposed SSPE reaches consensus for posterior distribution rather than on final estimates. Such ensures converges to Direct (DPE) approach, which has best performance all We show is related Iterative (IPE) algorithm, since both exploit self-synchronization mechanism. As result, improvements extensions IPE, previously studied other works, can be directly applied algorithm. In addition, able localize even when it not time synchronized with network as usually case. algorithms numerically assessed through Monte-Carlo simulations by mean distance error range offset error. Finally, only our approach gets close DPE after few iterations, but also different logical configurations.
